Autoimmune Response Treatment
This might sound like a crazy idea, but it seems like there might be some merit to a self induced autoimmune response treatment to rid the body SP. What am I talking about? Poison Ivy. Hear me out.
While the source of the SP seems still inconclusive, many posting indicate excessive sebum production and keratin blockage are factors. Many have adopted the methodology of shut down sebum production or physical excision of the elusive blockage granule, but what else could we do about keratin blockage? Several other posting have referenced various creams and oils that may have an effect ie dissolving keratin, so what if our bodies could do it for us? Poison ivy contains urushiol oil, which by itself is appears to be harmless. But in people, it elicits an autoimmune response, which is what causes us irritation. The oil actually combines with the skin protein keratin and causes the skin to become foreign, thus the immune system begins to reject the skin itself. Anyone who has ever had poison ivy has seen the effect on skin, causing a rather nasty rash, but beneath all the skin bubbling up there is a small war going on where your body is destroying keratin and, after awhile, rebuilding new skin. If that could be applied to areas affected by SP, then I'd imagine that keratin build up could be destroyed and SP would disappear once your new skin has grown (10 days-3 weeks after the ivy rash has hit its peak).
Is this bat shit crazy to anyone? The idea came to me after i had a cold sore on my lip (gross i know) and i realized that in after it healed, the small white dots also associated with SP that speckle the lips sometimes were completely gone-only in the area where the cold sore was of course. I thought oh, the skin bubbled up on one spot of my lip and the skin beneath was destroyed and had to be rebuilt; i got new skin with no white dots. Wonder if it would work the same on SP on my junk? Clearly I had/have no intention of purposely getting any strain of herpes down there to test the theory, so I instantly thought of what else could cause this 'new skin' formation and poison ivy came to mind. Its temporary, if not discomforting, and seems like a plausible idea.
I cant believe im even suggesting this. Thoughts? Anyone brave enough to test this theory? Who wants to rub their junk with poison ivy leaves???

Re: Autoimmune Response Treatment
Whatever value there is to your theory, I'd just like to say 'nice post!'. Well thought out and interesting. As far as trying it out goes? There are people on here that really know how to research possible risks associated with various potential treatments - I'd like to hear some of their views
